A few years ago one of our members posted a link to a site with 9000 downloadable woodworking plans. After adding plans year after year, Ted's McGrath now has 10,000+ downloadable woodworking plans.
I have been tackling project after project with success since and figure it was time I shared it with our community again.
Created by Ted McGrath, a professional woodworker, Ted's Woodworking is easily the largest collection of woodworking projects and blueprint online. Literally a lifetime worth of step-by-step projects. All of which are easily followed to build your own furniture, garden chairs, dog houses, bird feeders, shad and many more.
Ted McGrath spent the last 2 years putting together his woodworking package and according to this package is the most comprehensive online today. However, with so many woodworking packages out on the market and on the internet today, Is Teds Woodworking really worth it?
To answer this question and to find if this package is really for you lets talk about some of the pros and cons of Ted McGrath's woodworking package.
So honestly, it may be a little overwhelming at first. Just because there are so many different woodworking projects and plans, the members' area has a lot of things to choose from. They key is to pick one project and finish it to completion. If you're a part of our community, you can also post pics and ask questions as you go along.
The plans are organized by category and once you get started, you will find it is not difficult to find what you are looking for.
The Bottom Line
Overall, there is no doubt that Teds Woodworking is a very comprehensive and detailed woodworking package that comes with a great number of solutions for any kind of woodworking project you might think of.
There are other great woodworking packages online and some of them are cheaper than this one, but I seriously doubt that you will find any package that is so comprehensive as this one with its thousands of detailed instructions for all kinds of projects, great bonuses and very good customer support. P.S... If you're looking for a fun one to start with. I've tried dozen of different blueprints but by far, my favorite is the extendable coffee table. This one was a bit tricky but I love sitting on the couch and having my laptop or beer sitting right there. Check it out.
